Privacy Policy

Murshid (murshid.help) is a free, educational AI-adaptation tool, part of the Education for All Initiative founded by Prof. Hasan Aljabbouli. This policy explains what personal data we handle and why.

We keep this to the minimum needed to run the service:

• Account details — your name and email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Your assessment answers — the role, industry and goals you choose to share, so we can personalize your guidance.
• Usage signals — basic activity such as when you last used the app, used to power features like streaks and optional reminder emails.
• Optional AI key — if you add your own AI provider key, it is encrypted at rest and used only to generate your content.

To provide and personalize the service (your impact analysis, roadmap, recommendations, mentor and daily tips), to secure your account, and to send account, verification and — only if you don't opt out — occasional reminder emails. We do not use your data for advertising.

Murshid uses only essential and functional cookies: a sign-in/session cookie to keep you logged in, and a cookie that remembers your chosen language. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We share the minimum necessary with service providers that help us operate: our hosting provider, our email provider (to deliver account and reminder emails), AI model providers (to generate your guidance from the inputs you provide), and an anti-abuse/CAPTCHA provider. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your personal information.

You can view and update your details, and delete your account and associated data, from your account settings. You can turn off reminder emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any reminder or in settings.

Your Privacy Choices (California/CCPA & similar): Murshid does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. If you have any request regarding your data, contact us via the feedback page.

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and any stored AI key is encrypted at rest.

Murshid is available worldwide and in 9 languages. It is intended for adult learners and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
